Pope Benedict Video Tribute

bsixI just heard the news about Pope Benedict. Wow I’m stunned and grateful to our Lord for him all at once. There will be plenty of time for words later, but for now, here are three of my favorite Pope Benedict videos:

  1. Love Benedict XVI but completely understand how an 85 year old might not have the stamina to shepherd the Church at this critical time in its history. I am thankful for the 10 years Benedict gave us as our Holy Father but am also VERY excited about who the Holy Spirit might choose to become our new shepherd. Whoever that is will have large shoes to fill!

  2. Thanks for linking to these great videos. I was astonished by the announcement this morning, and I am awe of his intelligence and humility.

  3. He has been my Pope since I became Catholic in 2007.

    I have known no other.

I wonder what it will be like for him as an “emeritus” pope?

    1. I also became Catholic in 2007! Hi “classmate!” 🙂

It is definitely strange. My husband said the change will be less strange than after Bl. Pope John Paul II died, since he had been Pope since before my husband was born, but we are both very fond of “Papa Bene.” It is really sad that so many people outside the Church have no idea what a blessing it has been to have him lead the Church these eight years.

  5. The Room of Tears video probably could have done without Rodrigo Borgia when mentioned in the Saints the came before him. Oops.
